Smith&Nephew's
"HandPort(TM)" system allows surgeons the ability to insert a hand into
the patient to gain a tactile sense during laparoscopic surgical
procedures. This is a real improvement over previous techniques which
precluded a surgeon from gaining information through touch.
Client Requirements:
Smith&Nephew
required a development partner capable of very fine RF welding and
assembly in a Class 10,000 clean room environment.
Solutions:
- Dielectrics refined and improved the initial design concept utilizing the company's patented solutions for bladder inflation and bellows construction.
