Client Requirements:
A passive wheelchair cushion that provides extra comfort, as well as superior pressure-management.
Solutions:
- Dielectrics incorporated its patented Profile Technology, that allows for pressures and flow rates in discrete areas of 3-D space to be controlled.
- Air cell construction created a "dampening" effect so that the cushion was slow to respond to the users' shifts in weight.
- An on-board pump is integrated into the design to provide inflation. Consistent pressure is maintained by a release-valve.
